Jean-Luc Dehaene, Belgian Prime Minister on a haystack
This was my 40th assignment for 'Uitgeverij De Eenhoorn', this time for their children's magazine 'Klap'.
Jean-Luc Dehaene was Prime Minister of Belgium from 1992 to 1999.
'Dehaene' in Dutch means 'the rooster' or 'the cock' in English. So he was the boss of the Belgian chicken coop.
Here on his haystack.

Watercolor on A4 paper.
Dehaene was proud of his name and he apparently saved all
the cartoons, pictures and figurines of roosters he could get his hands on.
I don't know if he also had this caricature in his collection :-)
... but the children who subscribed to 'Klap' did! :-)
I have drawn Prime Minister Dehaene at least 4 more times, namely for assignments 21 and 35 for 'Kits', and assignments 54 and 88 for 'Klap'.
Prime Ministers are often in the spotlight :-)
